As we continued our trip, with Baltimore, MD as our next stopping point, we planned to stop and see the battlefield at Manassas, VA.  We got off the main highway and followed the signs; next thing we knew the road had turned to gravel and the next thing we knew we were back on the highway.  Well, we needed to stop for one of our 'nature breaks' anyway so I pulled into a stopping place next to some historical markers.  As we stopped another driver slowed to say we had a flat tire; the left rear tire on the trailer was flat.  Of course we have a road service for the trailer, one phone call and we were assured that Henry's Road Service would be there in less than 60 minutes.  ......oh well, 1 hr and 14 minutes later we called the service again and they said they would check to see where Henry was, they called back and said that he was running late and they would try to find another service.  By then we had gotten the lawn chairs our and were sitting up on a hill under a wonderful shade tree with a cool breeze.  As we watched the cars go by, read our books and patiently waited for the repair vehicle, we noticed people walking trails out in the field.  We were just across the meadow from the Manassas battlefield.  Four, yes, four hours later we got the tire fixed, so much for 60 minute service.

Things are close to each other here so quickly we were going around the Beltway around DC and headed up I-95 to Maryland.  Our RV park is just north of Baltimore in Perryville, MD, they sure don't have many RV parks around here.  We were a little disappointed in the park, but realizing that we would not be here very much, we decided to stay.  The grand kids were glad to see Grandma Lois and Grandpa Fred so I guess the long day was worth it.

After returning to Perryville we took a short afternoon trip to see our first lighthouse on Turkey Point, about 1 hour away.  On the way home we stopped at a great little restaurant, Wood's Crab Shack.  While there we read a a flyer about a weekend festival with more fireworks, that will be our third fireworks display since arriving.

Monday July 8, The Baltimore Orioles did not show up for us when we went to Camden Yards, I think it was a little league group or something else.  First the second baseman let a ball go right between his legs (Oakland 1, Baltimore 0).  Next, a ball is hit into center field and the centerfielder drops it after picking it up (Oakland 2, Baltimore 0).  Then to cap it off, a player on third goes home on a passed ball, as he slides into home, the catcher throws it to the pitcher and the pitcher actually slapped it away as he reached for it, SAFE AT HOME (Oakland 3, Baltimore 0).  I hope they got it all out of their system that night.  It was still 3-0 when we left after singing "Take me out to the ball game".

Friday July 12, we visited the inner harbor area of Baltimore, it used to be old docks and warehouses, but now it is shops, restaurants and condos.  The USS Constitution is there along with a Coast Guard cutter and a submarine.  We stayed too long and had to drive home in rush hour traffic.
