June
19 - Left Denton on the first day of our full-time RVing in retirement.
Came by Hope, Arkansas, the
birthplace of Bill Clinton. Luckily he was not on the road waving.
Arrived at Lake DeGray State
Park in Arkansas about 4:00 p.m. Beautiful,
large lake.
Visited with couple who license
plate reads RETIRED - No job, No boss, No hours, No paycheck!
They are also retired from education, she was a teacher and he was a
superintendent in Texas.
Couple in next space gave Fred
some of their bream that they had caught and fixed for their supper!
They were from Arkansas, neighborly folks, huh?
June 20 - We took a hayride
up to square dancing lessons. The caller
has been calling dancing at this park, every Thursday night for 23 years. Do Si Do and Alemand left-We kicked up our
heels square dancing at the park. This
guy even had dances for all the kids to do-he was great.
June 21 - We took a boat ride out to Tall Island, the top of the tallest mountain before the lake flooded the area. On one side of the island you could see the exposed strata that had been tilted up many years ago. As you went into the water on that side you could see the huge boulders that had fallen as the rock aged. Lois did put her face completely under water with mask and snorkel in place. We were able to see many fish, including one large bream that was protecting her nest from smaller fish trying to get to the eggs. It was great! Florida, here we come!
